With growing use of AI in many disciplines, the popularity of MIT’s four “blended” majors has intensified — giving students the computational chops to tackle today’s challenges. These majors now account for 8 percent of MIT’s undergraduate enrollment.

A new method helps robots pack objects into tight spaces. Using this technique, called Diffusion-CCSP, researchers were able to coax a family of generative AI models to work together to solve multistep robot manipulation problems.
