Senior Counselors from University of California at Berkeley Visit ECUST

    At the invitation of Professor Zhu Yuhong, Director of the Psychological Counseling Center and supported by the School's International Cooperation and Exchange Department and the Student Affairs Department (Department), Dr. Cynthia Medina and Dr. Adisa Anderson, senior psychologists of the University of California at Berkeley, came to ECUST for a two-week visit.
    Dr. Adisa Anderson and Dr. Cynthia Medina joined the “Tonghai Tea Talk” event theme as “University Campus Adaptation and Healthy Development” at Fengxian Campus of ECUST on May 27th, 2019. The two American guests shared their campus life and their adaptation to the University of California at Berkeley with the ECUST students. Later, they joined the seminar on the topic of “Career Crisis Prevention, Assessment and Intervention” with psychological consultants from universities in the Fengxian gulf area.
    In the evening of May 27th, the two guests delivered lectures of the course of  “New Mental Health Education”, lectures under the theme of “Intimate Relationship Management of College Students” and “Psychological Management of College Students”. The students were actively involved in raising questions.
    On the morning of May 31st , the two American senior councilors held a discussion on mental health status of college students with the part-time counselors and some psychological counselors of ECUST, and shared their experiences and practices of mental health and counseling services and crisis identification and intervention in America.
    In the afternoon of May 31st, Dr. Adisa Anderson delivered a special lecture entitled “Teacher Mental Health Maintenance” for trade union cadres and faculty members. Dr. Cynthia Medina gave a lecture on “Responding to Graduate Life Effectively” for graduate students.
